As part of the extensive refurbishment project at Glossop Town Hall, we worked alongside Artisan Structures to supply toughened laminated low iron glass for the new glass entrance door and surrounding glass wall structures.
The refurbishment of Glossop Town Hall was backed by a multi-million-pound investment in 2021. It was designed to modernise and restore the Grade II listed building, which houses the High Peak Borough Council offices, a retail arcade, and a covered market.

What did we supply?
We supplied ten panels of 12mm Low Iron Toughened and 36 panels of 6mm Low Iron Toughened glass for the new glass entrance door and surrounding wall structure. We also supplied five 31.5mm toughened laminated low iron glass structural beams, which offer vertical support.
The client needed reliable quality products within a small timescale due to the location being in the town centre of Glossop. Our team worked to exact measurements to ensure the toughened laminated glass units were correct the first time and delivered them promptly to suit the project timescales.
What were the benefits?
The new glass entrance door has helped to create a multi-use enclosed arcade space. Using toughened laminated glass helps to increase the longevity and safety of the project. This is especially important as Glossop Town Hall is a bustling community and commercial hub, so the glass must meet relevant safety glass standards.
Low iron glass was chosen to provide further transparency, while the neutral colour complements the existing building. The refurbished Town Hall will provide a better aesthetic experience for all customers and the local community, with our team’s craftsmanship at the forefront.
